Spiritual Magic Stories
The Healing of a Rubber-band
It was in performing for the Red Cross I realized the intimate power that comes with close-up magic. I introduced myself to the table of some of the volunteers. I asked what they did and many of them were nurses who volunteered for the Red Cross. I did various pieces of magic to the delight of all. I showed a rubber-band and I mentioned how rubber-bands are great at reminding me to stretch, to be flexible and to go with the flow. The nurse I was performing for seemed more uptight then the others. I asked her if she finds it difficult to do her job if she is under a lot of stress. She said, “Yes.” I then stretched the rubber-band and snapped it so that it broke. I placed the rubber band in her hand and closed it, telling her to “keep this broken rubber-band as a reminder to stay flexible and not to get stressed.” She nodded her head in agreement. I said “Better yet, close your eyes and think of a time in which you know you helped someone heal. Think of that healing power running down your arm down to your hand, you begin to feel a pleasant warmth in your hand.” She nodded in agreement again. She opened her eyes I had her open her hand revealing the broken rubber-band was whole again. I opened the rubber-band and placed it on her wrist reminding her to remember to be flexible and to know it helps her heal. She thanked me with the biggest smile.
